Any questions hopefully can be answered at the mandatory fall parents’ meeting. All parents are required to attend.
In the spring, there will be another large parents’ meeting to review the year and to elect new officers. This is usually done at the Team Banquet. Parent Committee Meetings are open to all who wish to attend. In addition, YPAC has its own website – www.ypacswimteam.org. Check it out to find out about meet information, meet entries, results, times, calendar of upcoming events and general team information. All swimmers who wish to swim in a championship meet are required by the YMCA league to swim in at least three swim meets. There are no exceptions to that rule.
Dual Meets: Please let coaches know in advance if your child must miss a DUAL swim meet. Please sign the no-show sheet posted at the YMCA or at the Ferndale High Pool. The coaches are very understanding of school commitments and other interests, but the consideration of having the information in writing or from a phone call would be much appreciated. The YMCA front desk will pass on messages to the coaches.
Invitationals: If your swimmer is going to swim in an Invitational meet, you have to submit your entries by the deadlines otherwise they will not be allowed to swim unless the meet allows for deck entries. There are no exceptions to this rule.
If on the morning of a meet your child is ill, please call another parent to pass the word on to the coaches so that changes in the line-up can be done early rather than at the last minute.

For weekly happenings all parents should check the YPAC Bulletin boards (across from the pool at the YMCA and next to the girl’s locker room at Ferndale) for information on meets and upcoming events. They should also take home the YPAC newsletter, the “Piranhagram”, which is available near the bulletin boards or can be obtained via e-mail.
This communication is usually updated weekly. While many parents pick up this information as they watch practices, on the days when parents are not in attendance, please make sure that the swimmers bring this literature home and then be sure to read it.
The newsletter is distributed via email and will be posted on the web site. It is your responsibility to check the web site regularly and to read the newsletter. If there is a pool problem, the information will be sent out via email. Pleas check it daily!!
Many important dates become lost simply because of poor communication. (Contact our Communications Chairperson, John Tadian, at john.tadian@miself.ang.af.mil to receive the weekly Piranhagram via e-mail.)
PLEASE talk to coaches ONLY prior to or after practice. We understand the need to talk to them, especially at the beginning of the season, but try to keep to these times.
The coaches only have a set time to work with the swimmers - their attention needs to be on them! There are to be no parents on the pool deck!
Please feel free to call or preferably email the Parents Committee members or the coaches if you have any concerns. If you have questions you can simply ask the parents in the bleachers. Names and numbers will be listed in the team roster, which will be available as soon as all names are finalized for the team (hopefully by mid-October). We suggest that calls be made during the early evening hour.
