YPAC Parent Support Group,
Executive Board

The YPAC Parent Support Group is responsible for promoting, developing and supporting YPAC. This includes many routine activities, special events and long range planning. Policies and direction for the Parent Support Group are set by the Executive Board. All members of the Executive Board are volunteers. The Executive Board has 12-14 members. These members include parents, the Head Coach and the Executive Director of the South Oakland YMCA. The Executive Board meets monthly throughout the year. Our meetings are open to all parents. The Board consists of the following positions:

Officers:

  • President – Provides direction for the Executive Board in all team endeavors. Coordinates and serves as liaison with the Coaching Staff and the South Oakland YMCA.
  • Vice President – Oversees special projects and assists the President
  • Secretary – Records and maintains minutes from the YPAC Executive Board meetings. Assists with any communication necessary to YPAC.
  • Treasurer – Prepares a budget. Responsible for keeping financial records and working closely with the South Oakland YMCA.

Chairs:

  • Internal Affairs – Coordinates all the volunteer positions for YPAC swim meets and throughout the year. Oversees the Age Group Parent Mentor Program
  • Communications – Facilitates communication between swimmers, Coaching Staff, parents and the YMCA. This covers Piranhagram, the website and member handouts.
  • Social – Organizes and coordinates all the social activities for YPAC.
  • Aquatic Affairs – Everything to do with meets. Coordinates meet entries for all meets. Organizes and runs all YPAC hosted meets.
  • Merchandise – Coordinates team-wear, swimsuits and equipment needs for YPAC.
  • Fundraising – Organizes and oversees YPAC fundraising activities.
  • USA Swimming Representative – Acts as a liaison between YPAC, USA Swimming and the YMCA. Keeps us apprised of changes, requirements and registration.
  • Past-President – Provides continuity and insight from previous term
