Parent Responsibility
All parents are responsible for:
- Transporting swimmers to swim practice on time, on a regular basis; .“on time” is being prepared to begin five minutes prior to the start of practice
- Escorting your swimmer to and from the practice site
- Supporting YPAC by volunteering throughout the season. All parents are required to volunteer for at least one committee, the YPAC Invitational and any Dual Meets or Championship Meets hosted by YPAC
- Downloading and reading the weekly Piranhagram e-newsletter
- Regularly visiting the YPAC website
- Honoring and supporting the coaches’ policy of no parents on deck at practices or meets
- Honoring and supporting the coaches’ policy of closed practices with no parents in the stands at Ferndale High School
- Fulfilling all YPAC financial commitments in a timely manner
- Communicating with the coaching staff about absences, practice conflicts, questions or issues
- Utilizing the Age Group Parent Mentor for their swimmer’s age group
- Entering your swimmer in meets by the entry deadline
- Signing the “no show” sheet for Dual Meets if your swimmer will not attend
- Checking the Meet Entries on the website or the YMCA bulletin board to confirm your swimmer’s entries in a meet
- Getting to meets on time
- Letting the coaching staff do the coaching
- Supporting, loving and encouraging your swimmer at all times
