About Us
Welcome to the YMCA Piranha Aquatic Club! Welcome to YPAC! Our history spans four decades of competitive swimming. YPAC was formed in 1972 with just 16 swimmers and one coach. Over the years, we have grown to a major YMCA/USA team in south-east Michigan.
Our motto, and that of the YMCA, is that “everybody swims, everybody wins”. This winning attitude is seen in all aspects of the YPAC program. We have swimmers at every level of competition.
YPAC is sponsored by the South Oakland YMCA, directed by a full time head coach and supported by an active volunteer parent board. We incorporate the Y values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. We are a swimming family with a strong sense of community. We endeavor to inspire our swimmers with cooperation, teamwork and leadership. We have families with swimmers, swimmers with a purpose.
